Participation at Inter-Collegiate Events

The college has always been keen on ensuring that the students imbibe knowledge and apply the same in real life situations. In keeping with the motto ‘participation is the stepping stone of success’ the college has always encouraged participation of students at various inter-collegiate events. It is our firm belief that right exposure provided to willing students at any stage of their academic career, always bears a great impact on the students’ life as a professional, and more importantly, shapes them as better humans. Given below is the account of participation at various inter-collegiate competitions:

A) Mooting and other Allied Competitive Activities :

MOOTING :

At Advani Law College’s ‘Vidhi Kiran 2019’, the college contingent participated in the following events: Extempore Moot- Nikhil Shirsekar and Aditya Rai; Parliamentary Debate- Anoushka Modak, Nikhil Shirsekar, and Ankita Lele;Letter to Chief Justice Competition- Ankita Lele and Anoushka Modak; Judgment Writing- Nikhil Shirsekar and Aditya Rai.
  4. Jason D’souza, DhanashreeHublikar, and Kinjal Palande participated in the Asian Parliamentary Debate at ‘Samvaad ’2k19’ at Agnel School of Law.
  5. MrunmayiKotawadekar participated in turn the court competition, Ruchika Indalkar and Shaanya Srivastava participated in legal quiz, ShaanyaShrivastav participated in spelling bee competition at the Law Fest ETERNUS at MGM Law College Nerul.
  6. Gargi Warunjikar and Atharva Date participated in P.N. Rege Moot at ‘Anuraag’, 2019. KedarDhargalkar and Esha Nangre participated in the Debate Competition, while Atharva Date and SolomanMathi participated in the Parliamentary Debate at the same event.
  7. At MUTC’s ‘Khwaaish 2019’,
    1. Ruchika Indalkar and Shaanya Srivastava participated in legal quiz. Prem Gada and AnushreeKoparkar also participated in the same, besides another team comprising of Pranati Dabholkar and ShreevidyaNargolkar participated in Legal Quiz.
    2. Mrunmayikotawadekar and AnushreeKoparkar participated in Investigation Court Room Trial, as also did other three other teams of the College, comprising of Shaanya Srivastava and Pranati Dabholkar, ShreevidyaNargolkar and Ashutosh Welankar, and Saudamini Amare and Ruchika Indalkar participated in Investigation Court Room Trial.
    3. Three teams comprising of Pranati Dabholkar and Shaanya Srivastava, MrunmayiKotawadekar and Preet Chawda, and Ashutosh Welankar and ShreevidyaNargolkar participated in Parliamentary Debate.

  2. At ‘ENTHUSIA FEST’ organised by VJTI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING a team comprising of Chinmay Thatte, Rishabh Singh, Mayank Bhogle, and Aditya Shendye participated in Rink Football.
  3. At ‘Zankaar, 2019’, the annual GLC Fest, a team comprising of Karan Gudhka, Shreyas Gavhankar, Nachiket Pai, Sumit Mali, and Deepak Mehta participated in ‘Tug of War’.

    4. Two teams participated in Football at this event. One of the teams comprised of ArchitManurkar, Nitin Rai, Shreyas Gawankar, Tanmay Rane, and Yash Fadtare; while the other team included Rishabh Singh, Mayank Bhogle, Alex D’souza, and Vishwawajeet Sambre
    5. Kaustubh Joshi, Prem Gada, Deepak Mishra, Aditya Shendye, Shashank Agarwal, Karan Gudhka, Sumit Mali, and Shreyas Gawankar participated in Tug of War.

Participation at Inter-Collegiate Events

Students at PES’s Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, thoroughly on the basis of sheer perseverance, hard work, and dedication- the same most ably supported by the faculty’s immense encouragement, able mentorship, guidance, and selflessly supportive seniors have won several accolades for the college. Indeed, ‘seven’, as a number has always carried with itself a history of positive connotations and significance, for almost every major human civilisation. Our journey as a fully functional College began about seven years ago, in July 2012. As we approach our seventh anniversary, we have been very mindful of looking towards the world as a stage- a stage to put up our foot forward, a stage to challenge our very own skills, question our very own competency, and also a stage for our students to win laurels for the College. In this feature, we look to celebrate the sweet fruits of labour of our students, as we wish them the best to keep up and strive hard on their path to success, succeeding in life, it is indeed time to take into account the accolades achieved by our students, this academic session:

A) Moot Courts and Allied Competitive Activities :

MOOTING :

  1. Arjun Kadam, SudhanvaBedekar and Gayatri Sathe won the 2nd Best Memorial Award at the 12th Pro Bono Enviro National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition organised by TNDALU's School of Excellence in Law, Chennai. They also qualified to the Semi Final round.
  2. Arjun Kadam, SudhanvaBedekar and Atharva Date won First Prize at the 2nd Surana and Surana and University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Punjab National Moot Court Competition. Arjun Kadam won Best Student Advocate and SudhanvaBedekar won Second Best Student Advocate award. SudhanvaBedekar won the Best Speaker of the Finals award.
  3. Arjun Kadam, SudhanvaBedekar and Atharva Date won first prize at the 9th National Moot Court Competition, ‘Checkmate’, 2019 at the Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Punjab.
  4. Arjun Kadam, SudhanvaBedekar and DrutiDatar won the 3rd Senior Advocate Girish Patel Memorial National Moot Court Competition at LJ School of Law, Ahmedabad.SudhanvaBedekar won the Best Mooter award.
  5. Anoushka Modak, Aditya Rai and Ankita Lele secured 2nd position at Vidhi Kiran Law fest at G.J. Advani College of Law.
  6. Devashri Karandikar, Gargi Warunjikar, and RuchaPendse received the best memorial award at P B Sawant National Moot Court Competition. They also qualified for the final round.
  7. Gargi Burande, Shaanya Srivastava and Pranati Dabholkar won the second position at “Lex Communique 2019” National Moot court competition at Thakur Ramnarayan College of law, Dahisar.
  8. Devashri Karandikar and DrutiDatar won the Best Team at VPM’sTMC Law College’s File Your PIL Competition. They also won the Best Draft award.

OTHER EVENTS :

  1. Atharva Date and RuchaPendse secured 2nd position in the Late Gopal Ganesh AgarkarSmrutiKarandak State Level Debate Competition at Shri NavalmalFirodia College of Law at Pune.
  2. Arjun Kadam, SudhanvaBedekar and DrutiDatar won the National Parliamentary Debate competition at LJ School of Law, Ahmedabad. SudhanvaBedekar won the Best Speaker Award.
  3. Arjun Kadam and JuhileeDalal won The Runners Up Award at The NariGurusahani Client Counselling Competition, 2019, held at NariGurusahani College of Law, Ulhasnagar.
  4. MrunmayiKotawdekar won the first place in the debate competition in the law fest ETERNUS at MGM law college, Nerul.
  5. NainishaOza secured 3rd Place at the Nani Palkhiwala Elocution Competition.
  6. Gargi Warunjikar and Shriya Nair secured the First Prize in the Law Quiz at ‘Anuraag 2019’, a fest organised by the New Law College, Mumbai.
  7. Preet Chawda and Kaustubh Joshi won Investigative Courtroom Trial and Legal Quiz at MUTC’sKhwaaish 2019.

B) Cultural Activities :

  1. Preet Chawda, SudhanvaBedekar and Kinjal Palande secured 3rd at Zonal Level in QuizwhileNainishaOzastood 3rd at Zonal Level in Elocution Group B (Hindi/English) at the 51st Youth Festival organised by he Mumbai University.
  2. Ishaan Paranjape, KedarDhargalkar, and Shreem Pathak secured the second position in the Debate Competition at Vaze Kelkar College’s ‘Zoomerang’.
  3. MrunmayiKotawdekar won the award of the Best C.L. at Khwaaish, 2019, hosted by MUTC, Mumbai.The College also won the ‘Best College Award’ for the second consecutive time at this Fest.
  4. At GLC’s ‘Zankaar 2019’, MrunmayiKotawadekar, Saurabh Desai, and Uday Singh Kashidsecured 2nd Position in ‘Mad Ads’. Uday SinghKashid secured first position in Mono Acting, and also won the title of ‘Mr. Zankaar’. At the same event, Malhar Kadam and Nitin Rai secured Second Position in the Meme Making Competition.

C) Sports Events :

  1. A team comprising of Nikhil Kank, Karan Gudhka, Nachiket Pai, Shreyas Gavankar, and Sumitkumar Mali secured the position of Runners-Up in Box Cricket at Zankaar 2019, GLC Mumbai’s Fest. At the same Fest, Rishabh Singh, Mayank Bhogle, Alex D’souza, and Aditya Shendye secured the position of Runners-Up in Soccer.

SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT :

It is a moment of great pride and joy for us that a member of the College’s Full-Time Faculty, Professor Prajnee Sahoo, a Full Time Faculty at the College has won the ‘Best Paper’ Prize at the ‘National Seminar on Recent Trends in Development of Constitutional Law in India’ SPARKLE at KLE Society’s KLE College of Law.

Participation at Inter-Collegiate Events

The college has always been keen on ensuring that the students imbibe knowledge and apply the same in real life situations. In keeping with the motto ‘participation is the stepping stone of success’ the college has always encouraged participation of students at various inter-collegiate events. Given below is the account of participation at various inter-collegiate competitions:

Legal/ Academics, and Cultural Competitions:


  1. Tejal Inamdar and Devashri Karandikar participated in the ‘Rajyastariya Marathi Vaktrutva Spardha’ held at Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Law in March, 2017.
  2. Saurabh Kshirsagar, Abhishek Karnik, and Payal Vardhan participated in 1st Y. P. Trivedi Government Law College Tax Moot Court Competition, 2017.
  3. Shriya Amin, Zelam Phadke, Rohit Ranbhise, Keral Mehta, Krutika Patil, Archit Manurkar, Siddartha Desai, Nainisha Oza, and Arohi Thatte participated in St. Xaviers’ College Fest ‘Malhar, 2017’.

  4. At VJTI College, Tanmay Rane, Archit Manurkar, Siddartha Desai, Hrishikesh Salaskar, and Omkar Mayekar participated in Football. Another team comprising of Aditya Shendye, Om Lonkar, Sagar Purandare, Shivam Kadam, and Aditya Rai also participated in the said event.
  5. Ridhika Kappor, Priyal Mehta, Agrima Mehta, Nehal Khatri, Dhwani Shah, Mansi Misra, Atumita Modi, and Krutika Patil participated in Throwball at the aforementioned event.
  6. Dhwani Shah also participated in Badminton. Agrima Mehta participated in chess.

  2. Anjalina Deb, Kaustubh Joshi, Satvik Teli, and Mayur Mohite also participated in cricket.

Achievements in Inter Collegiate competitions

Students at PES’s Adv.   9. Tanvi Chavhan, Ipsita Kate, and Drushti Parab won the first prize at a State-Level Moot Court Competition at Lokmanya Tilak College of Law, Pune.
  10. Sudhanva Bedekar and Arjun Kadam won Veer Savarkar Memorial File Your PIL Competition at VPM’s TMC Law College. Arjun Kadam won the Best Speaker. Inayat Ali and Shalaka Patil won the second prize in Dr. V. N. Bedekar Memorial Debate. Shalaka Patil won the Second Best Speaker.
  11. At G. J. Advani Law College’s ‘Vidhi Kiran, 2017-18’ Devashri Karandikar, Gargi Warunjikar, and Dhanashri Hublikar won Late Barrister H. G. Advani Memorial Moot Court Competition. Gargi Warunjikar also won the Best Speaker Award. Kinjal Palande and Shreeyash Changle secured first position in Letter to Chief Justice Competition. Devashri Karandikar and Gargi Warunjikar won Late Dr. H. R. Hiranandani Memorial Extempore Moot Court Competition. Kinjal Palande, Shreeyash Changle, and Dhanashree Hublikar were declared runner-up team in the Parliamentary Debate Competition.
  12. At MUTC’s fest ‘Khwaish’ Anushree Koparkar and Mrunmayi Kotawdekar were declared winners of ‘Investigative Courtroom Trial’. Prret Chawda and Pranati Dabholkar were adjudged the winners of Legal Quiz and Parliamentary Debate.
  13. Banalata Sen secured 3rd position at ‘Vividh 2018’ Plot Twist Competition. Jhanvi Nagi secured 1st position at ‘Vividh 2018’ Prop Art Competition.
  14. Sudhanva Bedekar, Arjun Kadam, and Abhishek Karnik won the first runner-up position at the 8th M. K. Nambyar National Moot Court Competition, 2018, Belgaum.Arjun Kadam also won the Best Speaker Award.
  15. Mayank Bhogle won Law Triathlon at JCCL’s Law Tryst.
  16. Neha Pethe and Rohit Ranbhise won the 1st prize in ‘Netflix & Chill’ at Zankaar, 2018.

At VJTI’s ‘ENTHUSIA’, Ms. Aishwarya Padwal secured second position.

MUTC’s ‘Khwaish, 2018’ the students won for the college following awards:

  1. The football team comprising of Tanmay Rane, Hrishikesh Salaskar, Chinmay Thatte, and Humdan Ansari were the second runners-up at the said event.
  2. C. S. Team Archhit Manurakar, Kaustubh Joshi, Satvik Teli and Atharva Shinde won the said event.
  3. Nikhil Kank, Sumit Mali, Krutika Patil, Arshad Ali Khan, and Shambhuraje Pisal won ‘Glow-Cricket’.

Intra Collegiate Debate Competition:

Nainisha Oza and Saurabh Kshirsagar won the First Prize. Aarti Sonawane and Shalaka Patil won the Second Prize. Gargi Burande and Pranati Dabholkar won the Best Research award. Arjun Kadam won the Best Speaker Award.

Marathi Debate Competition:

Devashree Karandikar and Saurabh Kshirsagar won the first prize. Chinmay Thatte and Shreeyash Changle won the Second Prize. Devashree Karandikar won the Best Speaker Award and Shreeyash Changle was adjudged Second Best Speaker.

Intra Collegiate Research Paper Presentation on Uniform Civil Code:

Sudhanva Bedekar and Arjun Kadam won the First Prize. Eesha Jaifalkar and Gargi Burande won the Second Prize. Ketki Pansare and Ujjwala Tripathi won the Third Prize.

Youth For Governance Competitions :

Youth for governance is the annual concluding function of PGCT, an NGO where First Year students have interned this year. The NGO is headed by Mr. Julio Rebeiro (Ex Comm. of Police), Dr. Ratna Mangotra, Mr. Narayan Verma (Former President of BCAS) and many more. They all are greatly focused on a clean governance for everybody in the country and want the youth to be a big part of it. Two students from our college, Apoorva Thakre and Arjun Kadam were chosen as panelist with Mr. Amir Khan, actor, director and producer at YFG’15 for a discussion on various topics like Education, AIB Roast, and Social Issues etc. The event was a great success.

Achievements - 2013-14

Parth Sanghrajka , Akshay Pai, Uttam Dubey , Ojas Kolvankar, Abhishek Matkar and Harshal Mistry, won the street play competition named "Paisa Bolta Hai" at Gandhinagar National Law University on 9 March, 2013.

  • Divya Shetty and Aishwariya Nair won first prize in Elocution, second in Debate and Legal Storyboard and were Overall Winners Trophy of 'Abhay 13', the intercollegiate festival hosted by Rajashri Shahu College of Law on 9 March, 2013.
  • Parth Sanghrajka, Akshay Pai and Uttam Dubey won the Adv. Datta Patil Memorial InterCollegiate Moot Court Competition at JSM's Adv Datta Patil college of Law Alibaug on 28 September, 2013. Akshay Pai won the best speaker’s trophy.
  • Siddhi Bhosale, Ami Shah and Akshay Pai secured the third place at the Moot-Court Competition conducted by Lord’s College of Law, Goregaon on 1 February, 2014.
  • An Intra-college Moot Court Competition was held on 26th August, 2013. The following students won in the competition;
