Academic Collaborations

Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law (ABACL) has collaborated with the following institutions by entering into Memorandums of Understanding to carry forward its vision and objectives.

The objectives of these collaboration is to promote cooperation between the Parties by facilitating the exchange of knowledge, research, and teaching resources, enhancing academic and professional development through joint training programs, seminars, workshops, and expert lectures, encouraging faculty and participant engagement in contemporary legal developments, and exploring additional areas of collaboration as may be mutually agreed to strengthen legal education, research, and capacity building.

Bharatiya Stree Shakti is a Non-Government Organisation, established with the vision of raising its voice against gender injustice, empowering women and addressing their concerns through a five-point programme encompassing education, health, financial independence, equality, and self-respect, while ensuring the active involvement of women in decision-making processes across all spheres of society and promoting their meaningful participation in national and social transformation.

PCGT is registered with the Charity Commissioner under Reg. No. E/20164 and is bound by the rules and regulations laid by the Charity Commissioner. PCGT functions on voluntary donations from corporations and individuals interested in promoting transparency and honesty in public life. Donations to PCGT are exempted u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act. ABACL and PCGT make every reasonable effort to encourage education and research, conduct events on good governance and encourage constitutional values.

BBA and ABACL collaborate on co-branded academic and professional initiatives, including conferences, seminars, workshops, guest lectures, research projects, publications, internships, and knowledge-sharing activities, with ABACL retaining academic autonomy in curating themes and speakers and the Bombay Bar Association contributing ideas, expertise, and practitioner engagement. Faculty members, BBA members, and affiliates serve as speakers or resource persons, while students of ABACL may benefit from internships and academic opportunities facilitated by the Bombay Bar Association, subject to availability and mutual consent. Both BBA and ABACL also agree to exchange scholarly resources and information to promote legal research and learning, and ABACL may host special screenings of the Bombay Bar Association Podcast for students to gain insights from the professional journeys of distinguished legal practitioners.

To advance and enrich their academic programmes VDLC and ABACL, both of which are imparting legal education in consonance with the UGC, and both institutions being recognised by the Bar Council of India, mutually entered into a formal MoU to promote the exchange of students, the exchange of faculty members, research exchange, the promotion of their respective academic programmes and initiatives, and the preparation of joint initiatives.

Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, along with the four law colleges mentioned hereinbelow, encourages cooperative activities, including the exchange of information and resources related to research, teaching, and learning through webinars, legal training, legal aid initiatives, guest lectures by experts, and multidisciplinary law courses; providing opportunities to attend and participate in seminars, faculty development programs, conferences, workshops, and short-term research programs focused on recent legal developments and amendments, with reciprocal invitations to each other’s faculty; and undertaking any other areas of collaboration as may be mutually agreed upon by the five law colleges.

The objective of this collaboration is to initiate and strengthen cooperation in the field of legal education through academic programs supported by the University of Mumbai, the Bar Council of India, and the University Grants Commission, while leveraging the respective strengths of the Parties in legal research and education and fostering their shared interest in meaningful academic engagement and collaboration.
