ABOUT PEOPLE’S EDUCATION SOCIETY

People’s Education Society was established in 1933 by the founding trustees of the society, Late Shri. S. K. Patil (eminent social leader), Late Charandas Meghji (industrialist) & Late Dr. D. N. Kale. The society was particularly established for the education of the children of mill-workers in the area of Lower Parel. As a result of consistent efforts of social workers & personalities like Dr. H. J. Bhabha, Shri. B. H. Ranganekar, Prof. V. N. Hatey, Shri. Sayyad Munawwar etc. the society established two schools & later on a junior college as further natural progressive step. The society has established Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law offering five years degree course and three years degree course.
Vision
Recognizing the growing need of efficient lawyers as a result of a new public awareness of rights and the
efficacy of Rule of Law, the People’s Education Society undertakes to train students to excel in the field of
law.
Mission
- To establish & run a premier Law College & Institute offering world class legal education with all modern facilities.
- To impart training in Corporate Laws, Patent Laws, Cyber Laws, Space Laws, Environmental Laws through specialized
courses. - To undertake research in Law.
- Interact with the Judiciary, setting new trends in the legal system.
- Keeping social objectives in mind, to develop a Centre for free legal aid to the needy & economically handicapped
people. - To establish family counseling centres for women & children.
- Networking with Institutes, Government Agencies, and NGOs & Voluntary Organisations for better implementation
of the laws. - To create legal minds who build an impact in the field of law.
