Placement Cell

Rules and Eligibility Criteria for Students

Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law shall conduct an on-campus ‘Placement Day,’ in the month of January, 2025.

 

General Eligibility and Application

  1. For each placement opportunity, students must apply via the Placement Cell only.
  2. The student must be currently enrolled in the 4th Year / 5th Year BA LLB OR 2nd Year / 3rd Year Gen LLB.
  3. Students applying via the Placement Cell must ensure that their CV is in accordance with the new Placement CV Format ONLY.
  4. If there are any errors in the CV then, the Placement Cell will communicate the same. Once informed, the rectified CV must be submitted by the student within 24 hours. After the lapse of such time, their application automatically gets discarded.
  5. Students must regularly check official communications (College Notice Boards, College Websites, Emails and TeachUs App) for PLACEMENT/internship openings and deadlines.
  6. The student should have no disciplinary record or pending actions against them.
  7. If a student does not fall within the eligibility criteria as specified by the Recruiter, their application would be automatically discarded.
  8. All the information mentioned in the application must be true and genuine. If any student is found violating this rule, their application will be discarded. Further, strict action shall be taken against the student as per the sole discretion of the Principal.
  9. Students must adhere to the deadlines; late submissions or incomplete applications will not be considered. Any request in this regard will not be entertained later.
  10. Opportunities will be offered across various legal sectors, including Civil, RERA, Criminal, ADR, Corporate, Family law, etc. Students may apply only for positions that align with their academic qualifications and sector preferences.
  11. Each student is eligible to apply and appear for a maximum of two interviews across all Recruiters for an academic year. This rule applies to avoid multiplicity and provide equal opportunity for all students.
  12. Two separate applications must be made to the Placement Cell, if a student wishes to apply to two Recruiters.
  13. Each Recruiter may have specific eligibility requirements (such as skill sets, academic performance, or relevant internships). It is the student’s responsibility to check if these conditions are fulfilled before applying.
  14. Any additional tests or interviews required by Recruiters will be communicated in advance by the Placement Cell.

 

Interview, Selection, Declaration of Results and Offer Acceptance

  1. Shortlisted students will be duly intimated as and when the Recruiter intimates the same along with the details of the interview.
  2. After getting shortlisted for an interview, it is mandatory for the student to appear for the same.
  3. In case the interviews are rescheduled by the Recruiter, the Placement Cell shall not be liable for the same. The students are expected to comply with the said reschedule and such rescheduling will be conveyed to the shortlisted students by any member of the Placement Cell.
  4. Students who withdraw from interviews at the last minute or show non-seriousness/frivolous behaviour shall be ineligible for further opportunities/placements.
  5. In case of a medical emergency or technical failure or inability to appear for the interview, the student shall inform the Placement Cell well in advance or immediately and must provide a formal statement and furnish a valid proof corroborating the same.
  6. In case of any doubts, a query may be directed to placement@abacl.edu.in with the subject – ‘PLACEMENT QUERY (Name of the respective Recruiter)’.
  7. Selected students will be duly intimated about the placement offer as and when the Recruiter intimates.
  8. Selected students must inform the Placement Cell about acceptance of the offer within 24 hours of such intimation from the Placement Cell.
  9. Failure to communicate the decision within the specified time will be treated as a decline.
  10. Declining more than one offer without valid reasons will disqualify them from future placements.
  11. Students must be transparent about their ongoing internships and/or placements, if any.
  12. Blacklisting shall also occur if a student accepts an offer but does not join the organization.
  13. The Placement Cell is not responsible to inform the students who have not been shortlisted or selected. It is the responsibility of the students to inquire about the same from any of the committee members.
  14. If a student has applied via the Placement Cell, all communication must take place via the Placement Cell. No attempt shall be made to contact the Recruiters directly in regards to the status of their application.
  15. Once the students apply via the Placement Cell, they consent to all the information that they have shared with the Cell. The Placement Cell reserves the right to share contact details of the students with the Recruiter, shall a need arise.

Participation and Conduct

  1. Students are expected to be punctual, professional, well prepared for all interviews and follow all the instructions as provided by the Placement Cell and the Recruiters.
  2. Students must carry hard copy of their CV along with supporting documents on the interview day.
  3. If any student fails to appear for the interview after confirming the same or commits misconduct or non-serious/frivolous behavior during interviews, such behaviour shall lead to blacklisting from future placement activities.
  4. Students must adhere to the dress code prescribed for interviews (advocate’s formal attire).

Disclaimer

  • The Placement Cell acts only as a facilitator and cannot guarantee placements for all students. Final hiring decisions rest solely with the Recruiters.
  • While every effort is made to ensure that these opportunities provided by the Placement Cell are credible, the Placement Cell shall not be held responsible for any issues, including but not limited to work conditions, internship or employment terms, compensation, disputes, or conflicts that may arise once the student begins the internship or employment.
  • Students are advised to conduct their due diligence and verify the terms and conditions of the opportunity before accepting the offer.
  • The Placement Cell shall not be responsible for any Recruiter cancelling their registration or delaying the response regarding the same.
  • No assumptions shall be made with respect to any details provided in the notices published by the Placement Cell. Moreover, no such details are subject to negotiation.
  • The Placement Cell reserves the right to amend these rules as necessary and will notify students of any changes.
